A Tale Of Acid Etching

July 24th, 2009

It almost sounds like it came from a novel, doesn’t it? Well we can assure you this is no fairytale, but it does have a happy ending.

Take a look at these images. They were taken at the home of one of our recent clients (check out our home glass repair services if you need more info). The images may look like simple dirt on glass, but actually the streaks were caused by acid etching after the brick work had been power washed with chemical agent:

Here’s another shot of the damaged glass. Just to be clear – this isn’t dirty streaks that you can wash off:

So in we went, and within a few short hours here’s how the glass looked:

Perfect distortion-free glass after just a few hours

We actually think the phrase “as good as new” is particularly apt for this job. The glass is absolutely perfect, with zero distortion and an immaculate gleam. so now you see that you can have perfect glass even after a bad acid day (and to learn about how we can help check out our acid etching repair page).
